Salford City Football Club has launched a new content series giving supporters an unprecedented look at life inside the club – with the first trailer now live.
This Is Salford will sit on the club’s official YouTube channel and promises to take fans into the heart of the changing room, showcasing players, staff and the stories behind the squad. Episodes will be released in real time across the season, setting it apart from traditional football documentaries such as Welcome to Wrexham, which are produced months after the action unfolds.

Gary Neville, co-owner of Salford City FC, said: “This Is Salford is a closer look into a Football Club. It’s filming dressing rooms – it’s been done before – but what might be different is how far we’re going to go and what we’re going to show. We want to make sure it’s authentic and honest. We need to get this out there as it happens. It needs to be in real time. It’s their Salford, it’s the fans’ Salford, and we want to show it.”
The series is made up of two strands:
- This Is Salford: Match Day – covering the action around each game, with dressing room footage, tactical insights and behind-the-scenes access, released within 36 hours of the final whistle.
- This Is Salford: Our Story – offering deeper storytelling, following players, coaches and staff on and off the pitch.
The club, co-owned by Neville, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville, said the project represents an evolution in its media approach, combining premium production values with immediacy.
