Everton to honour Bradley Lowery with special Premier League tribute

Everton has reaffirmed its support for The Bradley Lowery Foundation’s Cancer Has No Colours campaign, with the club’s Premier League fixture against West Ham United later this month dedicated to the cause.

The match, taking place at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday 29 September, will raise awareness and funds for the Foundation during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Set up in 2017, the Bradley Lowery Foundation supports families who are fundraising for treatment or equipment not readily available on the NHS, while also funding research into neuroblastoma and other childhood cancers.

To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Bradley’s parents Carl and Gemma will be the club’s special guests at the West Ham fixture. They will be joined by Jermain Defoe, the former Sunderland and England striker who formed a close friendship with Bradley in 2016.

Bradley, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma, first captured Evertonian hearts when he was Sunderland’s mascot against the Blues at the Stadium of Light in September 2016. His bravery and spirit saw him become a national symbol of hope before his death aged six in 2017.

Everton said it will be supporting the Cancer Has No Colours message through mascot experiences, in-stadium activations and player-led backing as part of the matchday activity against West Ham.

Gemma Lowery said: “Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is very close to my heart, and to have the continued support of a club like Everton means so much.

“The support they showed Bradley during his journey, and the way they have stood by the Bradley Lowery Foundation ever since, is truly incredible.

“Together, we can keep raising awareness and vital funds to ensure that children facing cancer today, and in the future, have access to better, kinder treatments. We are so grateful to Everton for standing with us in this fight.”

Everton’s support will continue beyond September. The club is already looking ahead to a significant date in 2026, when Sunderland are due to visit Hill Dickinson Stadium in the Premier League on 17 May – what would have been Bradley’s 15th birthday.
