The BBC has released the first-look images of The Guest – a new four-part psychological thriller produced by Manchester-based Quay Street Productions (part of ITV Studios), the team behind Fool Me Once, Missing You, and Dead Hot.
Written and created by Matthew Barry (Men Up), the drama stars Gabrielle Creevy, Eve Myles, Sion Daniel Young, and Emun Elliott, and is set to air on BBC One, BBC One Wales, and BBC iPlayer this autumn. The series is a co-commission with BBC Cymru Wales and has received support from the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.

Set against a backdrop of manipulation and obsession, The Guest follows the complex, toxic relationship between successful businesswoman Fran (Eve Myles) and her employee Ria (Gabrielle Creevy). With limited life experience and ambition, Ria is drawn to Fran’s confidence and charisma. As their relationship intensifies, Fran’s influence leads Ria down a dark path, culminating in a shocking incident that binds the two women in a web of secrets and deception.
The newly released stills offer a glimpse into the dynamic and contrasting lives of the central characters, teasing the psychological tension at the heart of the story.
BAFTA Cymru winner Matthew Barry serves as writer and executive producer, alongside Davina Earl (Men Up, The Red King) and Nicola Shindler (Fool Me Once, After the Flood) for Quay Street Productions. Ashley Way (Men Up, Who is Erin Carter?) will direct all four episodes and executive produce, with BAFTA winner Karen Lewis (Happy Valley, Men Up) producing.
The Guest is produced in association with ITV Studios, who will also handle international distribution.
Quay Street Productions was founded by multi-award-winning producer Nicola Shindler in 2021, to make contemporary, provocative and entertaining drama for UK and global audiences.
