Global digital product consultancy and leader in transformative technology, hedgehog lab, has announced the appointment of Derek Gibb as its commercial director to drive the firm’s planned Scottish expansion.
Based in Edinburgh, Gibb’s arrival marks a key milestone in the company’s expansion plans into Scotland with the launch of its new Edinburgh hub and plans to create 100 new roles in the region over the coming years.
The move supports hedgehog lab’s hub & spoke growth model, which has already seen the successful establishment of regional hubs in Newcastle, London, and most recently Leeds. With Edinburgh set to become the latest addition, the consultancy aims to further embed itself within Scotland’s thriving tech ecosystem, bringing its expertise in delivering innovative digital products for major clients such as AJ Bell, CMC Markets, Tesco Bank, ISF, and TeachMate to a new region.
A commercially driven leader with a passion for digital innovation and a career including spells at Scotland’s CreateFuture and Screenmedia, Gibb brings over 18 years of experience helping ambitious organisations transform ideas into impactful, user-centred digital products. His background spans both agile digital studios and large-scale consultancies, equipping him with a unique perspective on delivering value at speed – and scaling it sustainably.
As commercial director, Derek Gibb will take the lead in forging strategic partnerships, driving new business, and evolving the company’s go-to-market strategy as the consultancy continues its global growth journey. His presence in Edinburgh underscores hedgehog lab’s commitment to building a strong regional presence and nurturing talent across the UK.
