CBBC has received a record-breaking reception for My Mum Tracy Beaker, reaching 2.1 million streams on iPlayer in its first three days of availability after launching on February 12th.

My Mum Tracy Beaker sees the return of the Jacqueline Wilson character, and is told from the perspective of her 10-year-old daughter Jess. It follows the story of Tracy starting a new relationship with former footballer Sean Godfrey.

Running across three 30-minute episodes, all episodes are currently available on BBC iPlayer with previous series of the original children’s show available on the streaming service too.

On February 12th on the CBBC Channel, the programme’s premiere drew an average audience of 492,000 – while streams hit their all-time high over the course of the following few days.

Patricia Hidalgo, Director of Children’s & Education, said: “These viewing figures are extraordinary. We’ve had an overwhelmingly positive reaction to My Mum Tracy Beaker from viewers of all ages, proving how much love there continues to be for home-grown, British drama.

“CBBC continues to produce programmes that reflect the lives of children in the UK and leaves them with fond memories of iconic characters as they grow into adults. We’re thrilled to bring the adventures of Tracy and daughter Jess to new and existing fans alike.”
