The Couple Next Door heads to Channel 4

New thriller, The Couple Next Door is set to air on Channel 4 this autumn.

It was filmed earlier this year in Leeds and Belgium, by Eagle Eye Drama (Suspect, Professor T, Before We Die).

Starring Sam Heughan (Outlander, Suspect), Eleanor Tomlinson (The Outlaws, Poldark), Jessica De Gouw (Pennyworth, Our Man from Jersey) and Alfred Enoch (Tigers, How To Get Away with Murder), it’s said to be a “deliciously dark, psychological drama.”

Directed by Dries Vos (Suspect, Professor T) and written by David Allison (Bedlam, Marcella), the 6-part series explores the claustrophobia of suburbia and the fallout of chasing your deepest desires.

It starts as Evie (Tomlinson) and Pete (Enoch) move into an upscale neighbourhood, but they find themselves in a world of curtain twitching and status anxiety.

Soon a friendship with couple next door, an “alpha traffic cop” and a glamorous yoga instructor leads them to be “sexual entangled in a way that will change their lives forever.”

It will premiere on Channel 4 in the UK and available on STARZ in the US and Canada, as well as Lionsgate+ in Latin America.

It was commissioned for Channel 4 by Rebecca Holdsworth, Drama Commissioning Editor. Karen Bailey, EVP of Programming is the executive overseeing The Couple Next Door for STARZ.
