York-based hologram messaging tech company 2mee has announced it has completed a £500,000 funding round.

The funding will enable 2mee to bolster its sales and marketing activity and to grow its commercial team as it seeks to partner with organisations, agencies and government departments seeking to connect with people on a ‘human level’.

The company’s patented technology allows users to send human hologram messages directly to customers, clients and recipients to elevate face-to-face communication.

2mee said the use of holograms on its platform has been used to increase engagement, improve customer retention, drive client acquisition and open up new revenue streams.

James Riley, CEO of 2mee, said the latest funding round is a “milestone moment for 2mee”.

He continued: “It will allow us to deploy our ambitious expansion plans and help more organisations leverage the power of face-to-face communication.

“2mee has been developed specifically to allow users to connect with their audiences on a human level, creating incredibly valuable emotional relationships that ultimately take engagement to the next level with unprecedented CTR rates.

“With the raised capital we can now drive even greater awareness of 2mee among brands, businesses, agencies and bodies across the North and beyond.”
