FREE NOW, the “Mobility Super App” which is currently available in the North to passengers in Manchester and Derby, has partnered with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and BBC StoryWorks on a new documentary mini-series The Way We Move: Transporting Stories.

The member-led series aims to communicate the everyday stories entrenched within public transport and its meaningful role in everyday life. Each episode tells a story through the lens of a case study at the heart of public transport to showcase and celebrate its vibrancy and diverse community in a host of cities around the world.

Capturing a cross-section of the industry, the series tells the stories of the passengers relying on these systems, the operators and drivers who help connect people to places and the innovators finding new, more sustainable ways to transport people.

With only one app, users can flexibly book a full range of mobility services from black cabs and private hire vehicles to eScooters and eBikes which are made available through app integrations with main operators active in the market including Dott, HumanForest, TIER and VOI Technology.

Mariusz Zabrocki, general manager of FREE NOW in the UK, said: “Working together with BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions and UITP on The Way We Move was a perfect synergy for us. The series shows not only how we get from A to B in our cities but the stories of those journeys too.”

Simon Shelley, vice president of BBC Programme Partnerships – part of BBC StoryWorks, added: “The journeys we take every day matter. The experience contributes to our mood and productivity, and the modes of transport we use shape and contour our cities.
