Digital marketing agency Summit has taken more than 3,000 square feet of space within the second phase of Hull’s Centre for Digital Innovation (C4DI).

Summit becomes the first occupant of the new 20,000-square-foot C4DI tech hub, building on the success of the original C4DI building which opened in 2015.

Around 200 start-ups and scale-ups are based in or linked to the initial C4DI development, and it is hoped that the second will generate around 250 more skilled tech jobs.

The agency reviewed its office needs amid COVID-19, as more home-working became necessary. Its management team decided ultimately that the company needed a new home within Hull’s centrally located tech quarter, and will operate on a hybrid model.

Martin Corcoran, Managing Director of Summit, said: “As one of the biggest agencies in the North and the largest in the Hull and Humber region, we wanted to locate ourselves in the best possible position to continue to deliver success for our retail customers and maintain our significant client growth in marketing services.”

John Gouldthorp, Asset Manager of Wykeland, which developed C4DI, said: “Summit Media is a perfect fit for C4DI as an innovative local digital business at the forefront of its sector and an excellent first occupier for the next phase of this thriving tech community.

“As staff return to the office after the pandemic, employers are recognising that the quality of the working environment and facilities in and around workplaces are more important than ever to the retention and recruitment of talent.”
