Seb Thompson joins Sodexo as head of comms

Seb Thompson has joined cross-sector multinational Sodexo as head of communications for its Corporate Services, Ireland and Sodexo Live! businesses.

Thompson joins Sodexo from Manchester Airports Group (MAG), where he was head of media leading on reputation management, stakeholder engagement, PR, external relations, crisis, social media and CSR comms. He has also held posts at Weber Shandwick and Brazen PR, and covered both internal and external communications.

In the new role Thompson will join the senior leadership teams in the UK for Sodexo’s Corporate Services, Ireland and Sodexo Live! as well as the UK & Ireland brand and communications team.

He will work closely with all internal stakeholders to identify, advise and deliver integrated internal and external communications strategies across various channels. Seb will be based in Sodexo’s Salford office located at MediaCity UK.

Thompson said: “Sodexo is a large complex organisation and I am looking forward to driving the internal and external communications plans to support the organisation’s business plans and growth. I will be working closely with the company’s external PR and campaigns team as well as the employee communications team to enhance its brand reputation and deepen employee engagement.”

Sodexo’s Corporate Services business delivers workplace solutions to a wide range of organisations from large pharmaceutical companies, car manufacturers, financial institutions to media and tech businesses. Sodexo Live! provides catering and hospitality services at major events such as Royal Ascot, at a number of sporting stadia and arenas, whether for matches or concerts and performances, and at cultural destinations such as Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh.

Sodexo employs around 30,000 people in the UK and Ireland as part of a parent organisation that employs over 400,000 across 53 countries.
