Royal Voluntary Service recruits Marketplace Director for new digital platform

The Royal Voluntary Service has appointed Carole Urey to head up its new digital volunteering platform and consultancy offering.

Kendal-based Urey becomes Marketplace Director at the national charity and will oversee the development of its volunteering marketplace. This is a suite of services designed to support businesses to create volunteering strategies and programmes.

“This is an exciting time to join Royal Voluntary Service,” she said.

“By working together across the sector, we have an opportunity to inspire the next generation of volunteers, by making volunteering more accessible, flexible and inclusive, and by reducing barriers that prevent participation, including in workplaces. I’m thrilled to be contributing to a platform that will expand volunteer reach and drive greater community impact.”

Urey has more than two decades of experience in tech and commercial, including being Portfolio CCO at Calou Consulting; a Board Advisor to Chorus; High Speed Training CEO; and Group Chief Commercial Officer at Dye & Durham UK.

“We’re pleased to welcome Carole to the team. Her leadership and experience will be immensely valuable as we prepare to launch the platform,” said Catherine Johnstone CBE, Chief Executive, Royal Voluntary Service.

“Carole will also play a key role in establishing our new consultancy offering and ultimately, helping us achieve our mission to mobilise more volunteers to deliver support where it’s needed most.”

The platform will launch to the public this autumn, however charities are already able to upload their roles.
