The BBC has ordered two new series of Bridge of Lies from STV Studios.
Filming will start on the fourth series of 25 episodes later this month, after 1.4m watched the most recent outing.
The broadcaster has also commissioned another celebrity version, which will air on Saturday nights. 10 x 45 minute Celebrity Bridge of Lies will be filmed and produced in Glasgow.
“They’ve made versions in America and Spain recently, but Bridge of Lies is coming home in 2025 – and I’m nearly as excited as I was when England made it to the Euros final!” said an excitable Ross Kemp (NB probably not the line to use during the filming in Glasgow).
“I’ve had a lot of fun hosting this show for the past three years and I’m really grateful we’ve been asked to make more episodes than ever before with the new commissions.”
The shows have been commissioned by BBC Daytime as part of a competitive initiative to find innovative new quiz formats made in Scotland.
“Series four! We’re so happy audiences love Bridge of Lies as much as we do, it was such an easy decision to bring it back for more,” added Rob Unsworth, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning.
“Ross does a brilliant job making contestants feel at ease when they’re under pressure, and there’s still time to apply to be in this series so if you think you can beat the bridge get your applications ready.”
Gary Chippington, Creative Director of STV Studios Entertainment, said:
“It’s been such a pleasure seeing Bridge of Lies quickly grow from launching as an unknown new daytime quiz to becoming a bona fide hit show with an avid viewership across the UK, and I’m delighted that the BBC has commissioned a record number of episodes for 2025.”
