A new type of label, which glows under UV light has been developed as a “game changer” for brands.
Alive By Night has been created by Warrington’s Foilco, alongside Dreyer Kliche, Graphic Brands and Reflex Labels Plus in Keighley.
The 4 fluorescent foils (Club Pink, House Orange, Smiley Yellow, Trance Green) and one clear UV foil (Clubbers Transparent) are described as having “exceptionally vibrant qualities under daylight and blacklight.” However, when exposed to UV light, they emit an “impossible to ignore” glow.
“Our fluorescents are bright during the day, but at night, under blacklight, they come alive. Perfect for those unafraid to take risks and wanting unforgettable consumer experiences in the night trade,” said Foilco’s marketing manager, Jaime Evans.
“Alive By Night is the brainchild of both Terry and I as we continued to seek out new ways to stop consumers in their tracks. These foils are unlike anything else on the market today, the first time someone has used them in this space for their reactive qualities.
“With ‘Alive By Night,’ we’re giving brands that operate in both the night and day trades the chance to breathe new life into their designs. Whether for an ongoing range or a limited edition run, using these foils across multiple industries sets products apart from competition and starts conversations.”
The labels are produced by Reflex Label Plus (part of the wider Reflex Group) and using tooling from Europe’s leading die maker, Dreyer Kliche.
“Alive By Night” is both visually striking and incredibly durable. The labels are designed to withstand plenty of handling, maintaining their bold and vibrant look for as long as possible, meaning that irrespective of the busy handling demands of a bar, consumers can still enjoy seeing their favourite spirits without worrying about the label fading or peeling over time,” added Shaun Hanson, Keighley Site Manager for Reflex Labels Plus.
“The labels for Alive By Night have been produced on our Nilpeter FA22 12 colour flexo-combination press with inline Pantech Rhino stamping unit.”
Graphic Brands designed all the elements in-house, from the creation of the labels to the black sprayed gin bottle and its ‘feature capsule’.
“We have already seen considerable interest in ‘Alive By Night’ from brands looking to connect with a more experimental audience. These labels offer a new way to engage with consumers and create a memorable brand experience,” said Terry Cole, Creative Director Graphic Brands.
