In the spirit of Pride Month, Nova Productions is excited to announce a second season of The Walker Mysteries, the light-hearted, feel-good, sapphic crime/mystery podcast series which is currently part way through its first season.
Created by Andrew White, the series takes listeners on a heart-warming journey through the comedic crime-solving world of Charlotte Walker, a quirky yet sassy Yorkshire detective with a knack for solving crimes, but always with a dollop of humour, and frequently involving her loyal Border Collie, Bronte.
Each episode, presented in a monologue format with drama-based flashback scenes, follows Charlotte as she narrates her latest adventures and shares her unique perspective on the world around her, providing a refreshing twist to the traditional detective genre.
Season Two sees the introduction of a new crime-fighting (and more?) partner for Charlotte, in the form of DC Ayesha Stoker – and the start of the sapphic element of the series.
Sally Swift, who returns as DCI Charlotte Walker, said: “I absolutely love playing Charlotte, so I’m thrilled to continue bringing her to life and to explore new adventures in the second season of The Walker Mysteries. I’ve already been recording some of the episodes, and I can say listeners are in for a wild ride filled with laughter, intrigue and maybe even a touch of romance…”
Showrunner and writer Andrew White added: “Charlotte is a wonderful character to write – I only wish I was as clever and sassy as she is. In Season Two, we’ll delve into the growing friendship between Charlotte and Ayesha, both in and out of work. This new dynamic adds another layer of spice to the stories.”
Each episode of The Walker Mysteries is around 10 minutes long, making it the perfect companion for a quick escape into the world of crime-solving and laughter. The second season will consist of nine episodes, including a special Halloween episode that promises plenty of spooks and scares.
Season Two of The Walker Mysteries is set to premiere on September 1, with a new episode every week. In the meantime, Season One continues, with new episodes airing every Friday at 7pm.
Elsewhere, Doncaster-based Nova’s other big hit, the successful syndicated TV series Walks Around Britain, will also start production on its sixth season this month.
