NFL recruits Mary Earps to talk Super Bowl LVIII, Taylor Swift and spoilers

Manchester United and England Number One (#27) is fronting a Super Bowl LVIII campaign for NFL UK.

Throughout the weekend, the American Football fan will be featuring in A Different League campaign, to highlight the NFL’s influence as a “sporting and cultural phenomenon.”

“My job is to make big saves, so I’m saving the fans from something much worse than a 95th minute penalty…For the Super Bowl, why leave it to chance, forget spoilers, stay up and watch the game,” she stated.

The tongue-in-cheek ads will also feature a few other “handy saves” if you need to avoid spoilers, which will appear on NFL UK’s social media.

Earps is a Kansas City Chiefs – and Taylor Swift – fan having initially discovered the sport watching the All or Nothing documentary.

Although expressing her love for Swift and the Chiefs may earn a few brownie points, she may lose a few American fans having answered “neither eurgh” to the traditional snack of Chicken Wings or Hot Dogs. Presumably favouring a pie and a bovril.

Super Bowl LVIII will air live on Sky Sports NFL and ITV on Sunday, February 11 from 10:45pm. It will also be on BBC Radio 5 Live.
