New ‘City of Salford’ Monopoly edition launches

The new Salford edition of the family board game Monopoly has been revealed showcasing landmarks and attractions in the city.

Paul Dennett, Salford City Mayor, was spotted with the new MONOPOLY: City of Salford Edition at MediaCity in Salford for its launch today.

The game is themed around Salford and features iconic landmarks, charities and organisations, including MediaCity, TalkTalk, Salford Lads Club and various locations and places to celebrate the city.

Games company Winning Moves, producers of the game under licensing from Hasbro, announced it had selected the City of Salford in March earlier this year. 

MediaCity tweeted: “We are absolutely delighted to be on the MONOPOLY: City of Salford edition board. We’re alongside so many other fantastic locations and places; celebrating our community, history, heritage, innovation and most importantly – the people of Salford.”

TalkTalk added in a tweet: “Fantastic to be on the first ever Salford monopoly board.”
