New App to “revolutionise” job searches in hospitality sector

A new app is launching in Leeds later this year, aiming to shake up job searching in the city’s hospitality sector.

Werks has been established by Justin Taundi and Chris Marshall to help pubs, hotels and bars find casual workers and chefs.

They claim that the independent hospitality sector struggles with the recruitment process because job advertisements in the trade press are “prohibitively expensive” and using social media is alienating for customers.

“Leeds has one of the most exciting hospitality scenes, with unrivalled growth year-on-year. The city is forward-thinking; the tech and digital industries are exciting, and somewhat interlinked with the hospitality industry. It’s also our city that we know and love. We have great people to collaborate with, in a market we know, and it was therefore a good place to start!” said Taundi.

The platform enables businesses and candidates to post or search for permanent jobs. It includes an instant chat function and a “Werks Suitability Score” to try and match potential employers and employees.
