Dave Monk has been appointed group creative manager for all of UTV Media’s 13 local stations.

The role means he will oversee the creative teams at each of the local stations, which include The Pulse, Juice FM and Peak 107FM. He will report to ILR group sales director Michael Dobson.

Monk has 24 years’ experience in the industry, working at stations including UTV’s Juice FM, Wish FM, Wire FM, Tower FM and Radio Wave, plus stints at Smooth, Real Radio and Radio City.

He was the creative manager for Radio City, IRG and The Wireless Group and also taught at Liverpool Media Academy.

Monk said: “I’m really looking forward to bringing all my skills to this new role – I know the radio industry inside out and believe that we have some incredible talent here at UTV so my ambitions are high. I can’t wait to get started and push things further forward.”

Michael Dobson, ILR group sales director, added: “The standard of the writing talent we now have across our stations is incredible and I’m very excited about moving forward and designing even better radio campaigns for all of our clients.

“I’m really proud of the creative teams that we have in place, and having someone as experienced as Dave Monk leading our creative writing and production facility can only make things even stronger.”
