Meet & Potato lands national Maritime UK events strategy brief

Maritime UK, the national umbrella organisation for the maritime sector, has announced creative events company Meet & Potato (M&P) as its official event partner to support future regional and national event strategy.

M&P will work with the organisation to champion and enable a thriving maritime sector that brings together the shipping, ports, services, engineering and leisure marine industries.

M&P has previously supported one of the regional organisations that Maritime UK works with, Mersey Maritime, to deliver their annual awards ceremonies and hybrid conferences. It has now been awarded the contract to deliver the national Maritime UK awards that bring together all coastal communities around the UK as well as representatives of all sectors within, as well as working with the organisation to elevate its event strategy.

Maritime UK is the collective voice of the maritime sector which supports over 1 million jobs, adds £49bn to the UK economy and facilitates 95% of UK global trade worth over £500bn per annum. The next national awards will take place in Belfast in 2024, welcoming 350 delegates from across the country.

Speaking about the appointment, Chris Shirling-Rooke, MBE and chief executive of Maritime UK, said: “Our events are an opportunity to really celebrate our industry and everything that is achieved so we need to work with partners we really trust to translate that message and produce top class events that people talk about. We have no doubt that Meet & Potato are those people and we are looking forward to working with them.”

Jon Kelly, CEO of Meet & Potato, added: “Winning a new client is always fantastic, but winning a client following a number of years of recognition from previous events is particularly brilliant. Our production team is really excited to get going and to bring some M&P magic to Belfast.”
