Meet & Potato to film and produce today’s sustainable tourism event at Liverpool UN Global Goals Week

Event management agency Meet & Potato is the film and production crew of today’s main event at Liverpool’s Global Goals Week 2023.

The event is organised by the 2030hub and Marketing Liverpool as part of the city’s local response to the United Nations Global Goals Week and is called Liverpool 2023 – From Sustainable To Regenerative Tourism and will take place from 9.00- 15.00 today, Monday, September 18.

Key speakers will include The Rt. Hon Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale, co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Global Goals, and Cllr Liam Robinson leader of Liverpool City Council.

The Global Goals is an awareness campaign for the United Nations’ universally agreed blueprint for the planet and people that promises to leave no one behind, achieving a peaceful and prosperous world by 2030 called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and part of the 2030 Agenda.

Liverpool is committed to being a globally recognised sustainable destination and aims to communicate this through expert insights, interactive panel discussions and an exhibition of local sustainable suppliers.

By filming the event, messages delivered can be shared far and wide to people unable to attend the event and for ongoing reference. 2030hub, based in Liverpool is the world’s first UN-recognised Local2030 Hub, helping cities & businesses implement the SDGs at a local level.

Meet & Potato creative director Jo Prosser said: “Meet & Potato is a proud member of Liverpool’s Visitor Economy Sustainability Task Force (VEST). We, like many businesses, struggle to understand how we can be a sustainable organisation. By working alongside the Liverpool team we are learning best practice and we aim to make our events as sustainable as possible.

“We are supporting this day-long event by filming the panel discussions, talks and exhibition, so the VEST can share the insights and key messages from the day via social media and in training. We look forward to Liverpool leading the way in sustainable tourism.”

2030hub carbon and sustainability executive Simone Greyling added: “Huge thanks to Meet & Potato for sponsoring our ‘Liverpool 2023 – From Sustainable To Regenerative Tourism’. By filming the six hour event for us we will have tons of content to bring the sustainable message to businesses throughout the Liverpool City Region. Looking forward to working with Jo and the M&P team on Monday and in the future!”
