Integrated agency MC2 has been appointed to provide PR and marketing services to the £400 million Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.

The Manchester agency will help to raise awareness of the fund in the local business communities and provide a holistic marketing and events management service.

The fund was officially launched by the Sheffield-headquartered British Business Bank in February this year to provide small and medium businesses with various finance options for starting and growing their businesses.

MC2 is also an official partner of the government-led Northern Powerhouse programme, collaborating with a number of other business leaders and organisations including Transport for North.

MC2 managing director Claire Tennant (above) said: “Helping businesses to start up and grow is a core part of the Industrial Strategy, so having platforms like the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund is a huge vote of confidence for businesses in the region.

“We will be working closely with the LEPs, fund managers and the local Growth Hubs to ensure that SMEs in all corners of the north are aware of the fund and the enormous impact it will have. The British Business Bank is committed to making finance markets work harder for smaller businesses, so we’re delighted to be working with them at this exciting time.”

Rebecca Simon, marketing and communications director at British Business Bank, added: “MC2 demonstrated that they have strong credentials across all 10 LEP areas and a great understanding of the fund’s communications and marketing objectives.

“We are really pleased to have them on board as a partner to support our efforts in raising awareness of the Fund for small businesses in the North who will benefit from this initiative.”
