Citypress has been appointed by developer LCR, to deliver a placemaking brief for its £200m development at Waterloo Station.

Waterloo.London is a 135,000sq ft scheme, which will transform land and railway arches at the station into a food, drink, retail and cultural destination. It also includes the redevelopment of the former Waterloo International Eurostar Terminal.

“Waterloo.London will bring a very different kind of retail offering to the centre of London, with a focus on more experiential, modern shopping,” explained Adrian Lee, Development Director at LCR.

“Citypress has an excellent pedigree in property development and placemaking and are already delivering a successful programme for our wider business and brand, during what is a very exciting time in our 20-year history.”

The Manchester agency already handles the firm’s corporate reputation.

“LCR has a fascinating history as the UK government’s placemaking expert and the driving force behind some truly world-class, transport-linked regeneration schemes, like Kings Cross, St Pancras and Stratford International Quarter London,” added Pete Lappin, Associate Director at Citypress.

“Waterloo.London will be another landmark development in the same vein, bringing something new and very exciting to the South Bank. We’re excited about telling its story.”
