Paddy Power’s #SaveOurShirt campaign has signed another club.
This time, it’s Macclesfield Town, which said they are to become “unsponsored” by the bookie.
The Silkmen follow Huddersfield Town, Newport County, Motherwell and Southend United in ‘not’ having the brand’s name on their shirts.
“We’re delighted to have Paddy Power saving our shirt,” said Sol Campbell, Manager of Macclesfield Town,
“The club saw their campaign and were really keen to be a part of it and we wanted to return our kit back to our fans. We’re pleased to have Paddy Power un-sponsoring us, and we look forward to the season ahead.”
The club will wear the new kit for the first time on Saturday.
“Macclesfield saw the success of the Save Our Shirt campaign and felt they as club are a perfect fit for the initiative,” added a Paddy Power spokesperson.
“We’re delighted to welcome Sol and The Silkmen on board for the season, and to give the shirt back to their fans.”
