James Fisher and Sons plc appoints Opening Doors to review SEO strategy

James FisherListed marine industry services provider, James Fisher and Sons plc, has appointed Opening Doors to review the company’s entire web strategy spanning the plc’s portfolio of around 18 separate trading brands.

Opening Doors will be reviewing the current web sites and making and implementing recommendations aimed at enhancing site content and optimising its SEO rankings.

Based in Barrow-in-Furness, James Fisher is an international provider of services to the marine, oil and gas and other high assurance industries worldwide.

In the company’s latest year, the period ending 31 December 2012, James Fisher recorded sales of over £363 million and a profit before tax of £35.4m

The company owns a number of subsidiary companies: from stand-alone operations such as Buchan Technical Services, Divex, ScanTech AS and Fendercare Marine to Fisher-branded operations such as Fisher Offshore, James Fisher Defence and James Fisher Nuclear.

Ruth Harvey, marketing manager for James Fisher commented: “We are redesigning our web strategy and needed more advice on SEO and how we should take it into consideration when shaping the design and content of our new web sites.”

Chris Wilcock, a director of Opening Doors which is based in Congleton added: “The work will set the shape and tone going forwards for the roll-out of the company’s new web site architecture.”

James Fisher’s current web manager, Design Portfolio Marketing Services of Leeds and London, will continue to oversee the company’s web site.
