ITV to screen England Lionesses September World Cup qualifiers

England's Lionesses

ITV will bring viewers live and exclusive coverage of England’s Lionesses as they return to action for the first time since winning the Euros.

This time the Lionesses are bidding to secure their place in next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Finals, to be hosted in Australia and New Zealand.

Both FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, firstly away against Austria, followed by their homecoming against Luxembourg, will be shown free to air on ITV, as part of its deal, announced last year, to show England Women’s tournament qualifiers and friendlies until the end of the 24/25 season.

Laura Woods presents the live action, while Ian Wright and Karen Carney provide match analysis. Austria v England is up first, with the show starting at 4pm on Saturday September 3, followed by England v Luxembourg on Tuesday September with a 7pm start.

The Lionesses currently sit at the top of their qualifying group, having won all eight of their fixtures so far. Austria sit second, five points behind England.

England can clinch their World Cup qualification in the game against Austria and book their spot at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The match against Austria will be the first time they will walk out as European Champions after claiming their first major championship after beating Germany 2-1 at Wembley Stadium in a nail biting UEFA Women’s Euros Final.
