Iced Graphics in Lancashire has won a competitive pitch to create the website for Tom Parker.

The Chorley agency said it beat 3 “much bigger agencies” for the brief, which involved a full redesign of its “old-fashioned” site, including a custom content management system.

The new e-commerce site and online e-catalogue includes improved navigation and functionality and enables customers to place repeat orders, check stock levels and order by csv upload.

“Their requirements are quite unique as they have a head office based in Preston, Lancashire, a branch in Basingstoke and distributors who resell their products across the country. They also distribute their vast range of fluid power focused products to both business’ and end users, both nationally and internationally,” explained Kevin Hoyle, director of Iced.

“They required websites for each of their distributors which were not simply clones of the main site but that allowed them to both add their own products and choose which products they wanted to sell out of their range.”

The back-end has been redesigned so that the e-commerce can work with the firm’s Matrix catalogue system and its sales and stock management systems.
