HuHa PR has been appointed by cleaning experts HG to support its winter damp and mould campaign with housing and homeless charity Shelter.
The collaboration aims to raise funds to create accessible digital advice tools that will enable Shelter to reach even more people with their expert advice on the topic.
With 11.8m people suffering from significant damp, mould and condensation in the UK, and 51% of private renters living with it in their home, the cost-of-living crisis is predicted to exacerbate the issue even further this winter.
Warmth and ventilation are key to combating the fungus but if fewer households can afford to heat their homes sufficiently the already dismal statistics will only get worse.
In a campaign called ‘Together for safer and healthier homes,’ HG will give five per cent of sales of its mould spray to Shelter until May 2024 and promote its shared expert knowledge on damp and mould with the charity and its communities. This will finance the creation of new digital tools on Shelter’s website that could help 150,000 people get the advice and guidance on damp and mould they need.
HuHa will work on an activation project, as well as executing a hybrid strategy of media relations and thought leadership activity.
HuHa founder Vic Haley said: “We are delighted to support HG and Shelter in this timely campaign. This winter is going to be challenging for people to keep their homes warm and dry so it’s great to be able to work with HG, the leading experts in mould removal and cleaning to bring advice to those who need it. We’re looking forward to raising the reputation of both HG and the campaign through an expertly executed plan of attack.”
HG, head of UK Sales, Gina Slade, said: “[The] strategic campaign will enable us to reach as many people as possible, ensuring we raise the funds needed to create a new Shelter digital tool that could help 150,000 people get the advice and guidance on damp and mould and enjoy a healthier home.”
