Housr appoints President as tech firm founder focuses on US

Student housing platform, Housr, has named Oliver Dickinson as its UK President.

Dickinson joined the Manchester tech firm in May last year, initially as VP of Revenue across UK and North America. Prior to that he was COO of Bunch and spent over a decade at Glide UK.

His new role will see him focus on its UK operations as it aims to become the market leader in student rental and living space or as co-founder and CEO, Harry Neil Panter explained, putting their app “in the hands of every single student across the UK.”

Panter added:

“As I focus more on our US market, it became clear that we need someone to fully own the UK business. We require a leader with the commercial fortitude to monitor, manage, and create strategy, sustain momentum, and lead effectively.

“[…] So far, Oli has been pivotal in quadrupling our UK business last year and is currently on track to achieve three times growth by year-end, with a current YoY growth tracking at 269%.

“Since Ben Clayton and I first met Oli with him working with a previous partner business of ours, we have always wanted him as part of our team. What he has shown me personally over the past year is that he thinks the Housr way; in every meeting he is trying to get another 1% achieved, always one more, one more sale, one more partnership, one more strategy session, one more feature.

“This one more mentality, this outlook of always driving us forward gives me confidence that he will continue to hit targets and push the UK to new heights. I am not fully leaving the UK business and will still be very active from a strategical and growth perspective but from a day to day commercial driver, Oli is going to take the lead.”

He concluded:

“Housr is bullish on the UK and bullish on Oli.”

Late last year, it secured $10m in private financing to fuels its product innovation and geographic expansion, setting a 1m student annual target.
