Google Pixel has become the Official Mobile Phone Partner of Liverpool FC.
The tech giant said it would be using the device’s AI-powered camera to “amplify” the fan experience at Anfield, Prenton Park (where its women’s team plays) and at home.
“Pixel will use its legendary AI-powered camera to enhance the matchday experience, bringing fans closer to the game they love and helping them capture all the emotions of football,” said Eileen Mannion, Vice President Marketing at Google UK.
“We will also work with LFC to help close the visibility gap for women’s game, delivering on our commitment of making football more accessible and equitable for all fans.”
Google said that it would be creating new content to help “close the visibility gap” between the men’s and women’s game, to get more girls and women involved in the sport.
That will include a new dedicated women’s football show on YouTube, which will go behind the scenes during the WSL season.
In addition, the club will support Pixel FC, a collective of women’s football content creators and presenters, who get exclusive access, training, tools and investment.
The two organisations will also produce Pitchside Presented by Pixel which will be shot on Google Pixel phones.
