Former Havas Play influencer lead joins SocialChain

Manchester-founded integrated social agency SocialChain, now part of the Brave Bison Group, has appointed Sophie Berman as head of influencer as the business “accelerates the expansion of its creator marketing capabilities and scales its end-to-end influencer offering.”

Berman joins from Havas Play UK where she was head of talent and influencer, and brings extensive experience across both agency and in-house roles in the UK, EU and US markets. Across her ten-year-plus career, she has a strong track record of developing and executing influencer campaigns for global lifestyle and sports brands such as Adidas, JBL, Footlocker, JET2, JD Sports, Aston Martin, F1, and PUMA.

In her new role, Berman will report to CEO Jacinta Faul and lead SocialChain’s CreatorChain offering, the agency’s end-to-end creator marketing engine which has scaled extensively in the past year following the business’s acquisition and subsequent integration of the Fifth from News UK in April 2025. CreatorChain works with household name clients including loveholidays, YouTube, Primark and Linkedin to help them unlock the full power and influence of the creator economy across their marketing mix.

Berman will be responsible for scaling SocialChain’s influencer marketing proposition, driving commercial growth, and evolving the agency’s capabilities across creator strategy, talent and partnerships. She will also oversee the development of operational tools and processes to deliver best-in-class influencer campaigns at scale, while leading and growing a high-performing team.

Alongside this, Berman will work closely with SocialChain’s creative, strategy and client services teams to integrate influencer and creator marketing into broader social-first strategies, ensuring measurable impact across the full marketing funnel.

Berman said: “I’m thrilled to be joining at a time when there is such clear ambition to enhance the agency’s influencer offering and build something truly best-in-class through CreatorChain. There’s a huge opportunity to deepen how brands collaborate with creators, not just as media channels, but as long-term partners across content, commerce and culture, and I’m excited to help shape that next chapter.”

Jacinta Faul, CEO at SocialChain, added: “I’m beyond excited to have Sophie join us. She brings a powerful combination of strategic thinking, creative instinct and commercial acumen, alongside deep experience delivering impactful work for some of the world’s most recognisable brands.

“Her ability to connect talent, culture and brand storytelling makes her the ideal person to lead the continued evolution of our CreatorChain offering. I couldn’t be more excited to see the impact she’ll have as we scale our influencer capabilities across the business.”
