Judges and judging process
There is an independent judging panel taking part in this year’s Prolific North Champions awards, who are highly respected industry experts, who will take part in a transparent and fair judging process.
Judges will read and score all entry forms and consider any supporting materials submitted if needed. The panel of judges will then meet to discuss the highest scoring entries and will agree on the shortlist which will be revealed on 5th April, and the winners of each category.
From the broadcasting world with Caren Davies, Senior Head of Communications at the BBC; brand leaders such as Gill Riley, Marketing Director at Quorn Foods; or tech experts like Ben Davies, Group Marketing Director at Prateura Group. You can find out all about our panel here.
What makes a winning entry?
We recently spoke to the judges to get their tips on crafting a winning, stand-out entry.
“What makes an entry stand out to me is great storytelling, excellent use of data to inform the strategy and clear measures for success,” said Abby White, Head of PR and Communications at digital marketing agency twentysix.
“Year on year, the standard of entries to the Prolific North awards just gets better and better. The competition is fierce and you need to say something new if you want to stand out,” explained Ben Davies, Group Marketing Director at Praetura.
“Tell us why what you’re doing matters and show us how you brought the brief to life. So many applications jump straight into the campaigns details without explaining the bigger picture first.
“A great structure is essential and should provide a framework that helps you tell the best story, make sure you have a compelling narrative backed up with facts and figures around the impact you had. We’re looking for a combination of original interpretation, robust execution, solid results, and creative flair.”
