Everything you need to know about this weekend’s Junior Eurovision

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will air on the BBC this Sunday when the show comes live from Nice, with UK commentary coming from dock10 in Salford.

Eurovision fans can watch on CBBC, BBC Two and BBC iPlayer from 3pm and support the UK entry, STAND UNIQU3, who will be performing the song Back To Life.

STAND UNIQU3, who are 12-year-old Hayla from Liverpool, 13-year-old Maisie from Essex and 12-year-old Yazmin from Newcastle, will compete for the coveted title alongside 15 other countries.

Unlike the main Eurovision Song Contest, viewers will be able to vote for their own country.

Voting is online only at JESC.TV and UK viewers require a BBC account to vote so will need to make sure they have registered beforehand. They will then be directed to login in when casting their votes via JESC.TV

The result of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be determined by a 50/50 vote. 50% of the votes come from online voting and the other 50% of votes will come from a professional jury from each of the countries taking part.

The first voting window opens 7pm UK time on Friday 24th November 2023 and temporarily closes just before the live show starts at 3pm Sunday 26 November 2023.

Visit JESC.TV is also hosting a preview of all the performances. After watching the previews, viewers vote for three of their favourites.

The second voting window will open after the last song has performed during the live broadcast. Viewers then have approximately 15 minutes to vote again, by casting three more votes before the window closes – full real-time instructions will be announced in the live show.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Lauren Layfield and singer HRVY are the UK commentators, following all the excitement of the contest live from dock10.

Director of BBC Children’s & Education, Patricia Hidalgo, said: “With an infectious pop song and three fantastic performers, we have high hopes for our brilliant trio, STAND UNIQU3. Families everywhere can tune in to CBBC, BBC Two and BBC iPlayer to watch the live show on Sunday afternoon. We’d like to encourage everyone to register for a BBC account now so they can vote as soon as the window opens this Friday.”

Commissioned by CBBC and simulcast on BBC Two, CBBC and BBC iPlayer, the BBC’s coverage of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is a BBC Studios production. It is commissioned by Hidalgo, and Sarah Muller, senior head of BBC Children’s Commissioning 7+. The executive producer and head Of delegation is Lee Smithurst. Suzy Lamb is the MD for BBC Studios Entertainment and Music. Pete Ogden is the creative director for BBC Studios in the North. The commissioning editor for the BBC is Melissa Hardinge, with Nick Hall as commissioning executive.
