Gaming and esports organisation, Horizon Union, has announced an exclusive partnership with meal replacement brand, CTRL.

The deal, which is CTRL’s first major European partnership, will see the brand become the official meal replacement and ‘functional food’ brand partner of Horizon.

The collaboration comes as Manchester-based Horizon looks to promote healthy eating in the gaming industry, with the organisation encouraging its creator team to utilise CTRL as a means of balancing gaming and a healthy lifestyle.

CTR and Horizon Union are now a team

Over the next year, Horizon and CTRL will work collaboratively on content across influencer ambassadors and esports team activations, with an aim to attract audiences across the UK, Europe and the US.

Founded by Kieran Wood and Will Mollett in 2017, Horizon has grown to house over 40 creators who drive and deliver content via an always-on strategy, alongside their esports efforts within APEX Legends and FIFA.

Co-founder Mollett said: “We’re relishing the opportunity to partner with the rapidly growing start-up, CTRL. As an organisation, we want to ensure the health of gamers is of paramount importance. It is undoubtedly exciting to join forces with CTRL and aid them in delivering on this objective to Horizon’s audience and the wider community.”

CTRL was founded in 2019 by serial entrepreneur and former professional gamer Skyler Johnson and Major League Gaming co-founder Sundance DiGiovanni, as well as Rick Ross, Scump, LOUDgg, FaZe Clan, STPeach and JimmyHere.

Popular within the gaming community thanks to its co-founders’ roots, CTRL recently launched its Meal On-The-Go Bars following a friends and family funding round including Brazilian powerhouse LoudGG and content creators Jimmy Here and Crispy Concords, as well as other notable names in the industry. The firm is also already partnered with industry-leading talent and organisations in the US including FaZe Clan, Ghost Gaming, Scump and Ashtronova.

Johnson, Co-Founder of CTRL, added: “This partnership with Horizon allows us to stay honest to our brand mission in helping raise gamer health awareness, while building rapport to the audience outside of our gaming industry.”
