England may be out, but Orillo Films’ Greene King Rugby World Cup ad still scores

England may have been unceremoniously dumped out of the Rugby World Cup in heart-breaking fashion by South Africa in Saturday’s semi, but you’ve still got time to catch them take on Argentina for third place on Friday, and to see if reigning champions South Africa can go all the way against New Zealand in Saturday’s final. York’s Orillo Films know exactly where they’d like you to do it.

The production house was approached by Tom Day and Curveball Digital to bring to life a fun spot to promote watching the World Cup in a Green King Pub. Working with rugby legend and 2020 Six Nations winner Jamie George, the company wanted to highlight everything from food and drink to TV screens for the festival of egg-shaped sport, and they wanted to use a real location with real offerings to do so.

Orillo chose The Railway Pub in West Hampstead for a one day shoot for the clip, and filled the pub extras, food and drink. DP Jordan Clarke choose to shoot on the Alexa 35, with Arri Signature Primes, to give us the look that Day was after. All Post was done in house at Orillo Films, and coloured at The Mill.

Producer Keenan Foley said: “It was a great experience bringing to life this campaign, with a small window of availably from our talent Jamie George this meant we had to shoot and edit ahead of the busy schedule of the World Cup. Everyone at the Curve Ball and the Greene King made bringing this to life easy and seamless.”
