The journey to Digital City Festival in March begins this Thursday evening at the official launch event in Manchester city centre.

Ahead of the event at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, tipped to draw in more than 100 Northern professionals and influential figures, we’re excited to reveal who will be speaking.

The first speaker we can announce today is Herb Kim, founder of TEDxManchester, TEDxNewcastle and TEDxLiverpool, as well as Thinking Digital and the Liverpool Binary Festival. Herb is responsible for some of the most successful thought leadership events across the North.

After growing up in Brooklyn, Herb moved to England in 1997 and has now invested in three Manchester-based tech startups.

In 2010, Herb’s work on Thinking Digital and TEDxManchester earned him a spot in the MediaGuardian Top 100. In 2011, Wired Magazine included Herb as one of the Wired 100. He is also on the steering panel for Digital City Festival, and will support the event as it is brought to life across Manchester.

And after being announced as Lead Sponsor for Tech Show North at Digital City Expo, BJSS’ Head of Delivery, Matt Whalley, is the next speaker confirmed for the event this Thursday.
