Phil Howells, a former creative director at The Raft and Pravda and the creator of Peperami’s ‘It’s a bit of an animal’ campaign, has joined mmadigital as creative consultant.
Howells has worked on brands including Sure, Shop Direct and John Lewis in a career that has also seen him have spells at Grey London, Court Burkitt and JWT.
His contract at mmadigital, the specialist legal online marketing agency, is on a freelance basis but he will be employed on a full-time basis for the immediate future. The agency has recently hired a new head of project and account management and a senior PPC manager.
Howells said: “As the sector becomes more competitive, law firms will need creative campaigns that stand out to ensure they can capture the attention of people looking for legal services. I’m delighted to now be part of the mmadigital team to help our current and future clients do just that.”

Derry added that the agency now had 70 legal clients having made the switch to a specialist agency in April.
