The Co-operative Bank marks 150 years with Dinosaur


Dinosaur has been appointed to celebrate the 150th anniversary of The Co-operative Bank.

The Manchester agency’s campaign highlights how the bank and its customers have done things “the right way” since it was founded.

“We understand that a brand getting excited about their anniversary, in and of itself, is a well-trodden path but we wanted to make the moment count,” explained Mark Beaumont, CCO of Dinosaur.

“The Co-operative Bank have a lot to be proud of and their ethical approach to banking isn’t new – they’ve been doing it for 150 years. We wanted to show how they’ve spent this time – combating climate change, defending human rights, refusing to back animal exploitation and the trade in weapons and so much more.”

The messaging has been centred around the bank’s core principles of “ethical then, ethical now, ethical always” and the timeline film, social shorts and branch posters feature a symbolic 150th logo based on the signature of Robert Owen, the Co-operative Movement’s founder.
