BOOST&Co has announced that its Northern team has now provided more than £115m of growth capital to SMEs in the region.

The asset manager, which has bases in Manchester and Leeds, has more than tripled in size since the first Northern office was opened in Manchester in October 2018 and now provides tailored funding support for businesses in the North West, Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland. A second Northern office was established in Leeds in 2021.

BOOST&Co’s Northern leadership team includes principals Seth Vaughan and Oliver Reece, as well as business development manager Michael Collins, who previously worked at Metro Bank and Natwest. The three offer more than 30 years of combined, relevant lending experience.

Among BOOST&Co’s highest profile investments nationally is a £4m deal with Caerdav, the aviation firm owned and chaired by Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson in July. The company expects to create around 100 jobs on the back of the funding.

Key local benificiaries have included ProofID, which provides identity and access management solutions, Altrincham-based InTec Business Solutions and Purple WiFi.

BOOST&Co says it lends more and earlier than the banks, offering loans ranging from £2m to £10m. It has so far provided funding to Northern businesses in sectors including technology, media, telecoms, professional and business services.
