BBC Sport achieved record figures for its coverage of England, Wales and Northern Ireland’s matches at Euro 2016 yesterday.

2.3m unique browsers watched the England v Wales match online, with 9.3m tuning in to BBC One. This was a 73% share.

Over the course of the day, an all-time high audience of 14.6m unique global browsers visited the BBC Sport website.

The previous high was 13.6m, which happened on the final day of the 2015-16 Premier League season.

“We are delighted that the BBC’s digital offering again allowed so many people to share in this huge game. Our enhanced service, in addition to our first class TV and radio coverage, puts audiences at the very heart of the Euro 2016 action wherever they are, allowing them to follow the action however they wish,” said Barbara Slater, director of BBC Sport.
