Essity appoints new VP for UK, Ireland and MEA

Manchester-HQ’d hygiene and health brand Essity has appointed Lee Doherty as its new Regional Vice President Consumer Goods for the UK and I, Middle East and Africa.

Doherty joins from ASDA, where he most recently served as senior director – impulse grocery. He will be based at the company’s UK Consumer Goods HQ at Manchester Airport and take responsibility for the company’s portfolio of consumer brands including Cushelle, Plenty, TENA and Bodyform, alongside its private label business.

Essity currently has sales in 140 countries and approximately 48,000 employees worldwide. In 2022, the company acquired leakproof apparel companies Modibodi and Knix as well as launching menopause brand Issviva.
