Accord Marketing blames “devastating” impact of Covid as it closes Manchester office

Accord Marketing has confirmed the closure of its Manchester office.

The agency said the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on many of its clients – which have included a number of travel sector businesses like Just Travel Cover – had been “devastating”.

A total of five jobs have been lost as a result of the closure, and all accounts will now be run out of Accord’s London office.

Sally Winfield, CEO of Accord Marketing, said: “The impact of COVID-19 has been devastating for many of Accord’s clients and, consequently, we’ve had to make some very difficult decisions. After much consideration, our Manchester office has closed.

“Of course, this decision has absolutely nothing to do with the skills, experience, attitude or aptitude of the North team – all of whom are highly talented and highly regarded. It simply now makes sense to have all commercial accounts run from our London office, where there is easy access to our Digital and Creative teams, as well as Google and our partners in radio, TV and OOH.”

Accord Marketing’s Manchester office, which was 28th in Prolific North’s Top 50 Integrated Agencies 2020, also worked with the likes of Handicare UK and Anchor Hanover.
