Locations in Manchester and Yorkshire have formed the backdrop to a breathtaking new cycling video, completed despite the original rider suffering severe spinal injuries.

Martyn Ashton is a legend in the world of mountain bike trials and his first video, Road Bike Party received 9m views on YouTube. He was just about to film the follow up, when he suffered a career ending crash at Silverstone.

It left him without feeling in his legs and now he’s confined to a wheelchair.

However, 6-time British trials champion, Chris Akrigg from Keighley, West Yorkshire and cycling poster-boy Danny MacAskill joined forces to complete the project.

They worked with film-maker Robin Kitchin to shoot the film in locations across the country, including Yorkshire and the Manchester Velodrome.

It’s managed to get 3m views in just 3 days, with 640,000 of them coming within 24 hours.
