Digital City Festival organisers invite people to get involved by hosting a Fringe event

The Digital City Festival (DCF) team is inviting individuals and organisations to take part in the week-long celebration by hosting a fringe event.

As a DCF Fringe event, your event will have a listing on the festival’s What’s On page and be promoted through various means, including on social channels and via email marketing.

“We want the city of Manchester to be bustling with digital events and activities,” Festival Director Martyn Collins said earlier this week. “Hosting an event as part of the festival fringe will provide companies with the chance to engage with the industry in whichever way they want.”

Any organisation, from PR companies to eCommerce agencies, tech firms to Search specialists, can apply to host a fringe event by sending over a detailed proposition to hello@digitalcityfestival.co.uk

Fringe events will be able to make use of Digital City Festival branding to help associate them with all the other activities going on between 9th-13th March, including the Digital City Expo on the 11th and 12th.

Interested in hosting a Fringe event?

There aren’t any strict rules about what sort of event you have to host to be a part of the festival so let your creative juices flow. Real-time competitions, live debates, pub-style quizzes and digital-themed gatherings are all most definitely on the cards – the Digital City Festival team can’t wait to hear what you can think of.

Here are some suggested example event types to inspire you…

  • Panel discussions on topical issues
  • Showcases of cutting-edge products
  • Networking and social events
  • Q&A sessions with interesting people
  • Hands-on activities
  • Experiential events

We’re encouraging anyone to get involved. There’s no cost to be a part of the fringe but it will provide a huge opportunity to meet other professionals working in the North’s various digital sectors and put your company on Manchester’s digital map.

Please send as much detail about your proposed event to the team at hello@digitalcityfestival.com if you would like to take part.
