Greggs has saddled up with a Sausage Roll sidecar to mark its listing on delivery site, Just Eat.

The North East firm will initially offer food from 9 stores in London, Newcastle and Glasgow.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Just Eat to make it even easier for our customers to enjoy their breakfast and lunch menu favourites. From Bacon Rolls and Coffees to our range of Bakes, Sandwiches and Wraps, we’ll be able to go direct to the doorsteps of more than a million hungry households,” stated Hannah Squirrell, Customer Director at Greggs.

The firm’s marketing team is promoting the launch with a bespoke Triumph Bonneville, complete with a 6-foot sausage roll sidecar. The bike was inspired by the one that Greggs founder, John Gregg used in the 1930s to deliver his goods.

The firm said that designers took 2 weeks to customise the vehicle, which will now go on a 400 mile tour between London, Newcastle and Glasgow.

It was launched by Joe Swash.

“We’re delighted to welcome Greggs to Just Eat bringing customers even more of their favourite food brands at the tap of the app. Britain’s love affair with Greggs isn’t slowing down so what better way to celebrate than with a speedy Sausage Roll-inspired delivery bike!” added Graham Corfield of Just Eat.
