Volcanic, a Stockport-based recruitment and staffing website software supplier, has been bought by The Access Group.

The 94-strong company, which works with the likes of NES Global, Sthree Group, Morson and Oliver James, was founded in 2010 by Rob Wilde and Neil Pickstone and now has annual recurring revenues of £5m.

Overall, it has over 600 customers across three continents, making it one of the leading SaaS businesses in the recruitment sector.

Volcanic extends the product offering at Access, which already works with over 40% of the UK’s top 500 agencies and 75% of the top 20 agencies. Last year Access – one of the leading providers of software to growing mid-market businesses – grew turnover 42% to £143.1m, with EBITDA up 70% to £47.6m.

Paul Vogel, managing director for Access’ recruitment division, said: “The addition of Volcanic to our solution suite further strengthens our candidate to cash proposition and our overall presence in the recruitment market. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Volcanic’s customers over coming months and years, while further supporting their business.”

Rob Wilde, CEO and co-founder of Volcanic, said that Access’ “efficiency, productivity and collaboration in the recruitment sector” would be “further enhanced” by the deal.
