Burnley FC has offered to replace hundreds of shirts after it terminated its sponsorship deal with Finotive.
Within hours of that announcement, it confirmed that Vertu had signed up as its new front of shirt partner.
This morning the club released a statement saying:
“Burnley Football Club is disappointed to confirm that its agreement with Finotive has been terminated.
“We have acted decisively to protect the Club’s interests, and those of our supporters, while ensuring preparations for the new season continue uninterrupted, both on and off the pitch.”
Finotive’s Finotive One fintech trading platform was revealed as the sponsor last month, in a celebrity filled launch. NFL great and club co-owner, JJ Watt revealed that the design was “nearly two years in the making” and even Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared in the promotional film.
The original news story has since disappeared from the club site.

The logo was revealed on Burnley’s men’s, women’s and academy match day kits and training wear.
Now the club’s shirt will have Vertu on the front, as the car retailer extends its partnership with the Clarets. It’s been a sponsor since 2022, with major branding at Turf Moor. It’s also been its Official Automotive Retail Partner.
“We are delighted to welcome Vertu as Burnley Football Club’s new Official Front of Shirt Principal Partner. Vertu has been a valued and trusted partner of the Club, and this new relationship is a natural next step for two organisations that share a commitment to ambition, innovation and long-term success,” said Burnley Chairman Alan Pace.
“From our very first conversations, it was clear there was a shared vision for what this new partnership could achieve, and we look forward to working even more closely together and creating exciting new opportunities for our supporters throughout the season.”
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, added:
“We are delighted to strengthen our support for Burnley Football Club by becoming front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2026/27 season.
“Over the past four years, our partnership with the Club has been about much more than what happens on the pitch, and we have developed a strong relationship that has allowed us to work together to really benefit the local community.
“Burnley FC sits right at the heart of that community, and this new, enhanced partnership will allow us to continue working on programmes that we know will have a huge impact on people and communities across East Lancashire, whilst also increasing awareness of the Vertu brand as we continue to grow.”
The club said that as a result of the sponsorship change, it would give supporters who’d bought the previous shirt the option of a full refund; an exchange; or adding Vertu branding to their existing shirt free of charge.
Replica kits will not be available online or in the Clarets Store until further notice, including for the fixture against West Ham.
