Yorkshire-based Motorhome Pig has launched what it claims is the UK’s first AI-powered instant motorhome valuation platform, giving owners a genuine end-to-end valuation journey in minutes rather than asking them to submit an enquiry and wait for a callback.
For years, online motorhome valuations have followed the same process. Sellers complete a form, submit their details and are promised an ‘instant valuation’ that often still requires a follow-up call before they receive a meaningful quote – Halifax-based Motorhome Pig hopes to be the one to change that.
The fast-growing father-and-son business has developed the UK’s first AI-powered instant motorhome valuation platform, designed and built entirely in-house by co-founder Lewis Cheetham after almost a decade of developing and refining proprietary technology for the automotive sector.
Rather than simply capturing customer details, the new platform guides owners through a series of questions before delivering an instant valuation journey tailored to their vehicle and circumstances, and helping sellers understand their options immediately while still providing access to expert advice when they need it.
Motorhome Pig has grown into one of the UK’s largest specialist motorhome brokerages, while continuing to invest heavily in technology developed entirely in-house.
Founded by father-and-son team Gary and Lewis Cheetham, the Halifax business has built its reputation by combining decades of motor trade expertise with proprietary technology that makes buying and selling motorhomes faster, more transparent and less stressful.
Lewis originally began developing the technology behind the platform with support from The King’s Trust, receiving funding to turn his early ideas into reality. What started as software connecting private car sellers with local dealers has evolved into the technology that now powers Motorhome Pig’s customer platform, seller dashboard, AI assistant Alison and, now, its instant valuation platform.
Lewis Cheetham said: “We looked at what was already available and realised there wasn’t a tool that genuinely helped people understand what their motorhome was worth without first asking them to wait for a callback.
“Building technology has always been a passion of mine. I’ve spent almost a decade developing and refining the systems behind Motorhome Pig, learning from every customer interaction and every valuation along the way. That experience means we can now give owners meaningful answers in minutes, while still backing every valuation with the expertise of our team.
“For us, AI has never been about replacing people. It’s about removing unnecessary waiting, uncertainty and frustration so our team can spend more time helping customers make the right decision.”
Co-Founder Gary Cheetham added: “Every motorhome is different, which is why valuations have traditionally relied entirely on manual conversations and specialist knowledge.
I’ve watched Lewis spend years developing and refining this technology because he genuinely believes people deserve a better experience when buying and selling a motorhome. Every improvement has been driven by one simple question: ‘How can we give customers more information, more confidence and a better experience?’
“Our new platform gives owners an incredibly strong starting point straight away, but the real difference is that it’s backed by decades of specialist experience. Technology gets the journey moving immediately, while our team is there to guide customers through every step afterwards.”
The launch follows a period of rapid growth for the Halifax business, which has expanded into larger premises, grown its team to 17 employees and continues investing heavily in proprietary technology developed entirely in-house.
Motorhome Pig is confident that the platform represents another significant step in modernising a traditional industry, proving that AI can enhance customer service rather than replace it while helping more owners make informed selling decisions from the very first interaction.
