Leeds-based marketing agency Perfect Storm says it has recorded its strongest financial performance to date, reporting 20% EBITDA growth and more than £500,000 of new business during its latest financial year.
The full-service agency, which is marking its 10th anniversary, said new business increased by 51% year-on-year during 2025/26, despite wider challenges across the economy.
New client wins over the past 12 months include Identi, PGL and Bradford Bulls, alongside work spanning the pet health, travel, retail and sports sectors.
The agency has also expanded its workforce, with permanent headcount doubling since 2024 to 22 employees. Perfect Storm said this comes at a time when UK agency employment fell 6.8% year-on-year in 2025.
Co-founder Adam Errington said the business had focused on maintaining profitability rather than headline revenue figures.
“It’s easy to believe everything is doom and gloom out there in the agency world, and sometimes it feels like there’s constant redundancies and closures,” he said. “So we feel very fortunate to be celebrating growth every year, year-on-year. But we have always planned ahead and tried to differentiate ourselves in a crowded market – and focused on getting the right team in place
“We really put thought into our proposition, which we’ll be updating in line with the agency’s 10th anniversary, to make sure we’re forward-thinking and strategy-first. Those agencies who don’t adapt, or who try to be everything to everyone, are the ones struggling.
“We believe that EBIDTA shows the true value of a business and often agencies hide behind metrics like turnover which don’t necessarily mean much. The wider sector’s profitability has undoubtedly come under pressure for various reasons, including the fact that new business has become harder to win and client budgets are more cautious than ever, but there is growth to be had out there for those agencies who have a clear vision and proposition.”
Perfect Storm was founded in Leeds in 2016 by Errington and Dave Nutter. Alongside its permanent team, the agency works with a network of freelance specialists assembled according to individual client requirements.
David Richardson, business development director at client Coryton, said: “The strategic insight from the team at Perfect Storm has been invaluable to us over recent years, especially in light of significant business changes. But what also works so well for us is that the team can call on their network of specialists to help with specific tasks as and when they’re needed.”
