Social Chain co-founder backs Sheffield jobs platform as partner and investor

Dominic McGregor has invested in and joined Sam’s Social Media Club as a partner, backing the Sheffield-founded platform’s next phase of growth.

The Manchester-announced deal sees the Social Chain co-founder take a stake in what is described as the world’s biggest social media-first employment platform.

Founded in Sheffield and still headquartered in the city, Sam’s Social Media Club has grown from its South Yorkshire roots into a global destination for digital talent and hiring. The platform has built a following of more than 500,000 across social media and connects candidates with brands including BAFTA, the NHS and the Jamie Oliver Group.

It spans roles across social media, content, influencer marketing, digital marketing, brand and communications.

McGregor, who built Social Chain from a bedroom start-up into one of the world’s most recognised social media companies ahead of its public listing, brings both investment and operational experience in scaling social-first businesses. He is also currently involved with Fearless Adventures and holds advisory roles across the UK tech and media ecosystem.

He said: “Social media is still one of the most misunderstood hiring markets in the world. Generalist job boards don’t get it. Sam’s does. The community they’ve built is genuinely differentiated and this is exactly the kind of focused, high-quality platform that the industry needs more of.”

The partnership will focus on accelerating Sam’s Social Media Club’s growth, expanding its employer network and strengthening its position as a global career hub for digital professionals.
