Business services growth brief for employee-owned Manchester agency

National essential business services provider, Clear Business, has onboarded strategic marketing communications agency MC2 to create the conditions to drive sales, with a particular focus on accelerating organic growth within its existing customer base.

The PE-backed organisation, which supports more than 90,000 small businesses with their essential services (including broadband, telecoms, payment services, small business finance, water, energy, and insurance), has evolved significantly in recent years. Following investment, it embarked on an ambitious buy and build strategy alongside a major digital transformation, before consolidating its seperate brands under the Clear Business name.

Having established a unified go-to-market strategy, the service provider’s next phase of growth will see it focus on deepening customer relationships and increasing awareness of its full range of services.

MC2, which is employee-owned and headquartered in Manchester, will support the marketing and sales teams with data-driven customer communications and demand generation campaigns designed to drive top line growth.

Georgina Lord, chief operating officer at Clear Business, said: “We’re at a pivotal moment in our journey where the foundations have been set and there is massive opportunity for further organic growth. The MC2 team knows how high-growth businesses operate and they have really immersed themselves in our world to gain a deep understanding of both the challenge and potential in front of us. I know they will bring strategic thought, creativity and real quality to every output, helping us take things to the next level.”

Lucy Giles, director of MC2, added: “Clear Business has achieved impressive growth through a combination of strategic acquisitions and organic development in recent years. The company has also made significant progress in strengthening its strategy, brand and customer focus during that time. By leveraging all of our in-house capabilities, we’re looking forward to building on this momentum to ensure both existing and prospective customers see the true value of the Clear Business offering.”
